Learning Support Worker – Primary School (Part‑time)

About the role

The Learning Support Worker will assist in the management and education of children and young people with additional support needs (ASN) at Mossbank Primary School. Working either one‑to‑one or in small groups, you will follow each child’s Individualised Education Programme and collaborate closely with teachers and external professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to children with ASN within mainstream classes or specialist settings.
• Implement and monitor Individualised Education Programmes under teacher guidance.
• Collaborate with speech, occupational, physiotherapy and psychology professionals as required.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities, adaptations and behaviour management.
• Record progress and communicate observations to the teaching team.

Required profile

• Qualified or unqualified Learning Support Worker (assessment will determine suitability).
• Willingness to join or update the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
• Eligibility to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
• Availability for a permanent part‑time role: 25 hours per week, 39 weeks plus pro‑rated holiday.
• Commitment to flexible working and to working on‑site at Mossbank Primary School.
