Lecturer - Agricultural Extension and Education

About the role

Bomet University College is recruiting a Lecturer in Agricultural Extension and Education (reference BU/ACD/02/09/2026). The lecturer teaches and assesses courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and takes part in research, supervision and course development.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess courses in the discipline at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Supervise undergraduate student projects and other experiential learning programmes
• Supervise dissertations and theses at postgraduate level
• Take part in developing and reviewing undergraduate and postgraduate courses
• Initiate, promote and take part in research projects
• Provide professional and community services, build training and research partnerships and linkages, and undertake fundraising for the University
• Carry out administrative duties and other responsibilities assigned from time to time

Required profile

• A Doctorate (PhD) from an accredited institution, or a Master's degree with specialist training
• Publication record: 12 research publication points from refereed journals and 2 from conference proceedings, or 32 points if coming from a research institution, or 6 points if from practice/industry
• Evidence of evaluated effective teaching and/or research
• Recognition and registration by the relevant regulatory body where applicable, and membership of the relevant professional body where applicable
