Lecturer – Child Psychology

About the role

The University seeks a dedicated Lecturer in Child Psychology to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. This full‑time position involves curriculum development, research supervision, and active participation in university service.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess undergraduate and graduate courses in child psychology and related specialisations.
• Support and mentor students in academic and career matters.
• Contribute to curriculum development to keep programmes current and marketable.
• Participate in programme assessment and periodic reviews.
• Supervise student research projects, theses and dissertations at both levels.
• Conduct scholarly research in the area of expertise.
• Engage in service activities for the university, the profession and the community.
• Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.

Required profile

• Earned Doctoral Degree (PhD, PsyD or equivalent) in Psychology from an accredited university.
• Prior teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral level.
• Publication record meeting CUE Standards & Guidelines (2014).
• Registration with the Counselors and Psychologists Board of Kenya (or other relevant professional body).
• Supervision of postgraduate students is an advantage.
