- PhD (or Master in special cases) in a relevant field from an accredited university.
- Minimum 12 publication points, with at least 8 from refereed journal papers.
- Registered with the relevant professional body where applicable.
- Fulfilled Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
