Lecturer Grade 12 Civil Engineering (Geospatial/Surveying Engineering)

About the role

Kirinyaga University is recruiting a full-time Lecturer Grade 12 in Civil Engineering, specializing in Geospatial/Surveying Engineering, based in Nairobi (Westlands). The role covers teaching, examination moderation, student supervision and research leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and evaluate undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Set, moderate, administer, process and mark examinations
• Advise and mentor students, and supervise their research activities
• Develop teaching and learning materials and curricula, and plan, implement and evaluate them
• Supervise research projects and develop research proposals for funding
• Take part in departmental and faculty strategic planning and meetings
• Attend seminars, workshops and conferences and build inter-disciplinary collaboration
• Take part in administrative, academic and consultancy work, and undertake other duties as assigned

Required profile

• An earned PhD or equivalent degree in the relevant field from an accredited university, registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya
• OR a Master's degree in the relevant field (in special cases) with at least three years of university-level teaching or research/industry experience
• A minimum of 24 publication points, at least 10 from refereed journal papers
• Registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya
