About the role
The University seeks a dedicated Lecturer in Pharmacognosy to teach Bachelor of Pharmacy students. You will lead laboratory sessions, develop course materials, and contribute to curriculum design while supporting research initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Teach and assess Pharmacognosy courses for the Bachelor of Pharmacy program.
- Supervise laboratory sessions covering phytochemical screening, extraction, isolation, and characterization of natural products.
- Develop and update laboratory manuals, digital content, and course materials.
- Participate in curriculum development, program review, and accreditation activities.
- Secure research grants and engage in collaborative research projects.
- Mentor students in academic and research activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean.
Required profile
- B.Pharmacy or M.Pharmacy in Pharmacognosy, Phytochemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry (Natural Products) or a related field.
- PhD in Pharmacognosy or Pharmaceutical Sciences is an advantage.
- Minimum three years of university teaching experience in pharmacognosy or related areas.
- Registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., Pharmacy and Poisons Board).
- Strong background in laboratory techniques for natural products research.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and high professionalism.
