Lecturer – School of Nursing (Full‑time)

About the role

Mount Kenya University is seeking a full‑time Lecturer for its School of Nursing. The successful candidate will join a dynamic academic team, delivering undergraduate, diploma and certificate programmes while contributing to research and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the Dean of the School of Nursing.
• Participate in curriculum development, review and preparation of course outlines.
• Develop learning materials and deliver lectures across nursing programmes.
• Set, invigilate and administer examinations; monitor attendance compliance.
• Supervise student projects, theses and defence meetings.
• Conduct research, publish findings and present at conferences.
• Attract research funding and manage grant applications.
• Facilitate field studies, clinical attachments and internships.
• Attend university meetings and perform assigned administrative duties.

Required profile

• PhD in a relevant nursing discipline from a recognised institution (or Master’s degree with expected PhD registration).
• Minimum three (3) years of teaching experience in a recognised academic institution.
• Registered and licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
