Legal, Regulatory & Risk Manager

About the role

The Manager, Legal, Regulatory & Risk will lead internal legal, regulatory and risk functions, acting as the primary liaison between Peach Cars and external stakeholders such as legal partners, government bodies and investors. The role requires a seasoned professional with strong analytical, critical thinking and investigative skills to design risk mitigation strategies aligned with commercial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice on commercial, regulatory, employment and operational matters and interpret relevant laws.
• Oversee drafting, reviewing, negotiating and standardising commercial contracts, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan laws and sector regulations, maintain statutory registers and corporate filings.
• Develop, review and implement company-wide policies, strengthen corporate governance and manage internal investigations.
• Oversee corporate secretarial functions, including board and shareholder meeting preparation and statutory tax filings.
• Collaborate with Japanese legal teams and investors on due diligence, regulatory documentation and fundraising support.
• Lead internal teams on legal, regulatory and risk issues, train staff on compliance and serve as primary contact for external counsel and regulators.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Postgraduate Diploma in Law (Kenya School of Law).
• Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practising certificate.
• Minimum 5–7 years post‑admission experience in corporate, commercial, regulatory or in‑house roles.
• Strong risk‑management, analytical and commercial awareness skills.
