Loan Business Development Manager

About the role

The Loan Business Development Manager will lead the growth of Zillions Credit’s lending portfolio by creating strategic employer and merchant partnerships, acquiring new customers and expanding market reach for salary loans and asset financing products.

Key responsibilities

• Map and penetrate new market segments for salary loans and asset financing across corporates, SMEs and SACCOs.
• Conduct market research to identify untapped geographic areas, industries and customer segments.
• Design and execute go‑to‑market strategies, promotional campaigns and product launch activities.
• Identify, negotiate and close partnership agreements with employers, merchants and retailers.
• Develop and manage employer partnership programmes for payroll‑linked loans and build merchant networks for device financing.
• Drive customer acquisition through employer sensitisation sessions, field visits and referral programmes.
• Support onboarding of new customers and partners, and implement retention and loyalty initiatives.
• Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports, track pipeline and portfolio growth metrics, and present recommendations to senior management.
• Coordinate with credit and operations teams to ensure smooth verification and collections processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in banking, SACCO, micro‑finance, fintech or consumer finance, preferably with salary‑loan or asset‑financing products.
• Demonstrated success in business development, sales or partnership management within corporate or SME environments.
