Loan Officer

About the role

TGL Credit Limited is a non-banking, non-deposit-taking financial organization offering loan solutions and investment products. It is hiring a full-time, on-site Loan Officer based in Nairobi. The Loan Officer evaluates loan applications, performs credit assessments and recommends approvals or declines in line with company policies and risk guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate loan applications and perform credit assessments
• Explain loan products and terms to clients
• Collect and verify documentation and process loan origination
• Ensure accurate data entry in internal systems
• Underwrite secured loans and monitor loan performance
• Support clients with repayment plans and account inquiries
• Collaborate with customer service and finance teams to resolve issues and support regulatory compliance

Required profile

• Strong expertise in loan-related functions, including experience as a Loan Officer and hands-on loan origination
• Solid foundation in finance, able to analyse financial information and understand lending products and risks
• Knowledge of underwriting, credit evaluation, collateral assessment and internal lending policies
• Proven customer service skills and clear communication
• Diploma or degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field is beneficial
• Familiarity with non-bank lending operations is beneficial

• Proficiency with loan management or CRM systems is beneficial
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet turnaround times
