Loans Officer - Nairobi & Nakuru

About the role

Fanikisha Micro Finance Bank is a non-deposit taking microfinance institution that advances loan facilities to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). It is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Loans Officer to evaluate and process loan applications while delivering excellent customer service and adhering to its lending policies. The position is based in Nairobi or Nakuru.

Key responsibilities

• Identify potential clients and market loan products
• Evaluate and appraise the creditworthiness of clients
• Visit homes and businesses before loan disbursement
• Collect client information and help them complete loan applications and supporting documents
• Build referral networks and foster strong client relationships
• Review delinquent accounts and keep the portfolio at risk low
• Carry out debt collection and recovery
• Act as the liaison between clients and the bank

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Finance, Business Administration or a related field preferred
• 1-2 years of experience as a loans officer or in a similar role
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Required skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in customer service and relationship management
• Knowledge of credit assessment and loan processing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
