Local Information Systems Officer (LISO)

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal logistics operator now part of the MSC Group, is hiring a Local Information Systems Officer (LISO) based in Nairobi. Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, the role ensures appropriate controls are in place for the security of information systems, identifies and assesses security risks and reports them accurately. It is a full-time, permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Apply and distribute the Central Information System Security Policy (ISSP) and adapt it to the local perimeter
• Implement central information security strategies, short-term and long-range
• Carry out annual reviews and audits, involving internal business partners and external parties
• Manage the LISO security team and run a proactive risk assessment for new and existing systems
• Communicate risks and mitigation recommendations to senior management
• Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of information security policies and procedures, and check compliance of local processes against company policy
• Evaluate security incidents and coordinate responses, including technical incident response teams
• Ensure local data protection regulations and contractual provisions are met, and accompany countries in applying the ISSP
• Provide KPIs on incidents and security indicators for the Eastern and Southern perimeter
• Develop information security awareness training and take part in awareness events
• Apply and help implement Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) procedures

Required profile

• Degree in IT or equivalent
• ISO 27001, ISO 27002 and ISO 27005 certification (mandatory)
• ITIL Foundation certification
• Professional credentials such as CISSP, CISM or CISA are an advantage
