Lodge Operations Manager – High End Safari Camp, Laikipia

About the role

Our client, the owners of a high‑end safari lodge in Laikipia, Kenya, are seeking a hands‑on Lodge Operations Manager. The role combines operational and financial management with a focus on delivering an authentic wilderness experience while supporting conservation objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all lodge departments (food & beverage, housekeeping, guiding, maintenance, security) to maintain high service standards and operational efficiency.
• Deliver an exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure, handling requests, concerns and operational challenges.
• Lead, develop and schedule the lodge team, conduct daily briefings, manage performance, welfare, training and foster a one‑team culture.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, security and regulatory compliance in a remote wildlife environment.
• Manage lodge finances, budgets, purchasing, stock control and expenditure, ensuring strong financial discipline.
• Build relationships with the Conservancy, neighbouring properties, suppliers and guides to align tourism and conservation objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Proven experience in camp, lodge or luxury hospitality management, preferably in a safari setting.
• Strong leadership, organisational and people‑management abilities.
• Excellent guest relations, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Solid financial management experience, including budgeting and reporting.
• Knowledge of health, safety, security and risk‑management procedures.
• Ability to live and work effectively in a remote environment with flexibility and resilience.
