About the role
The Logistics and Supply Cell Advisor will support humanitarian operations by ensuring efficient movement of goods, equipment and medical supplies across complex and often insecure environments. Reporting to senior logistics management, the advisor will provide technical guidance, troubleshoot supply chain challenges and help build local capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor the end‑to‑end supply chain for multiple projects, ensuring timely procurement, storage and distribution.
- Provide technical advisory support to field teams on humanitarian logistics best practices.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures, contingency plans and emergency response protocols.
- Collaborate with partners, donors and local authorities to align logistics activities with operational needs.
- Conduct regular assessments of logistics performance and recommend improvements.
Required profile
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in humanitarian logistics or supply chain management.
- Strong field experience in complex or insecure operational settings.
- Experience supporting multiple missions or regional operations is an asset.
- Previous experience with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) or similar NGOs is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management, Humanitarian Affairs or a related field.
Required skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English; French is a strong asset.
- In‑depth knowledge of humanitarian logistics and supply chain principles.
- Ability to analyse problems, design solutions and implement logistics systems.
- Experience in capacity building, coaching and cross‑functional collaboration.
