Logistics Officer – Interplant Transfers

About the role

The Logistics Officer is responsible for coordinating inter‑plant transfers, bulk material movements, and rail shipments to ensure timely, cost‑effective flow of materials across the company’s operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate movement of raw materials, finished goods and other products between plants, depots and storage areas.
• Allocate vehicles, track shipments, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate documentation such as delivery notes, transfer documents, weighbridge tickets and proof of delivery.
• Monitor bulk cargo transfers from storage areas to plants, liaising with import logistics and transporters.
• Support planning and execution of rail movements, liaising with railway operators and internal teams.
• Communicate daily transport requirements to appointed carriers and monitor their performance.
• Maintain daily logistics trackers and prepare regular status reports on key performance indicators.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in logistics, warehouse or transport operations management.
• Strong coordination, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple movements in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of ERP or logistics management systems.
• Familiarity with fleet/transport coordination processes.
