Machine Tool Worker

About the role

The Machine Tool Worker will operate and maintain lathe, milling and drilling machines to fabricate, modify and repair mechanical parts needed for electrical and production equipment maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Operate conventional lathe machines for turning, threading and shaping metal components.
• Run milling machines for cutting, slotting, shaping and precision machining.
• Use drilling machines for accurate drilling, boring and tapping operations.
• Fabricate spare parts for motors, conveyors, gearboxes and other plant equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications.
• Measure and inspect finished parts with vernier calipers, micrometers and other precision tools.
• Perform preventive maintenance on machine tools and ensure workshop safety and housekeeping.
• Collaborate with the Electrical Maintenance team during breakdowns and plant shutdowns.
• Maintain documentation of fabricated components and repairs.

Required profile

• Diploma or Craft Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Production Technology or Machining Technology.
• Minimum 3 years experience operating lathe, milling and drilling machines in an industrial setting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Good knowledge of machine‑tool safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Capability to work with minimal supervision.
