Maintenance Head (Live‑in)

About the role

The Maintenance Head will lead all technical and operational aspects of the lodge’s facilities, ensuring a safe, sustainable, and guest‑focused environment. This is a permanent live‑in position at &Beyond Suyian Lodge in Kenya, reporting directly to lodge management.

Key responsibilities

• Assign and monitor daily tasks for mechanics and maintenance staff.
• Conduct briefings, be available on radio, and coordinate urgent repairs.
• Inspect lodge facilities, including water treatment, generators, solar system, HVAC, and electrical panels.
• Oversee subcontractors, schedule work, verify quality, and maintain communication.
• Monitor fuel and gas levels, stock tools and consumables, and ensure equipment readiness.
• Maintain accurate logs, daily dips, and reporting records.

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, solar, and HVAC systems.
• Proven ability to lead and supervise a maintenance team.
• Excellent organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Commitment to safety, sustainability, and high service standards.
• Valid driver’s licence.
