Market Access Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Market Access Manager to lead our access initiatives for Novo Nordisk’s portfolio across Kenya and the wider Sub‑Saharan region. The role combines strategic planning with hands‑on engagement with governments, payers and development partners to ensure our medicines are listed, reimbursed and reachable for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute market access strategies for priority markets, including government tenders, national procurement and public‑health programmes.
• Build and maintain relationships with Ministries of Health, insurance bodies, regulatory agencies and other key decision‑makers.
• Identify, structure and manage partnerships with multilateral organisations, NGOs and private‑sector stakeholders to create co‑funded access models.
• Align access plans with broader health‑system improvements such as diagnostic pathways, provider capacity and patient journey optimisation.
• Serve as the central integrator across Commercial, Medical, Corporate Affairs and Global Access teams to ensure strategic alignment.
• Lead cross‑country initiatives, capture successful models and scale them regionally in line with the 2030 ambition.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Economics, Policy, Life Sciences or Business.
• 7–10+ years of experience in market access, public affairs or health policy, with a proven record of government engagement, pricing and reimbursement.
• Demonstrated success developing access strategies in African or other emerging markets, preferably with multi‑country exposure.
• Strong stakeholder‑engagement and influencing abilities with senior external decision‑makers.
• Strategic thinker with commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial mindset.
