Mathematics and Physical Education Teacher

About the role

The Aga Khan School, Kisumu is seeking a qualified Mathematics and Physical Education (PHE) teacher to deliver high‑quality lessons for learners from Playgroup to Grade 9. The role involves implementing the Competency Based Curriculum and supporting the holistic development of students.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Mathematics and PHE lessons in line with the school’s vision and the CBC framework.
• Develop unit plans, lesson plans, course outlines and maintain records of work and class analyses.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs and support students with learning differences or behavioural challenges.
• Organise and lead regular excursions and classroom displays to showcase student work and projects.
• Monitor student progress, produce reports for parents and maintain up‑to‑date records.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Education (Arts) – Mathematics and Physical Education with at least a B‑ grade in O‑levels.
• Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
• Minimum 1–2 years teaching experience and familiarity with the new Competency Based Education.
• Ability to teach an additional subject is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
