MEARL Internship – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Research & Learning

About the role

Save the Children’s Programme Development and Quality (PDQ) team is looking for a motivated intern to support the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Research and Learning (MEARL) unit. The role offers hands‑on experience in data management, analysis and knowledge sharing within a leading humanitarian organisation in Kenya.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the focal point for the PRIME information‑management system, ensuring timely data entry and updates.
• Maintain and analyse the country‑office humanitarian output tracker on a monthly basis.
• Update the accountability database regularly and produce monthly analysis to inform programme decisions.
• Support knowledge‑management activities by updating and disseminating capability statements, communication and reference materials on SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and shared drives.
• Assist the MEARL lead and programme staff with data‑related queries and reporting.

Required profile

• Current university student or recent graduate interested in monitoring, evaluation, research or humanitarian programmes.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn data‑management processes.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with programme teams.

Required skills

• Experience with the PRIME information‑management system (or similar data platforms).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry and basic analysis.
• Familiarity with SharePoint and Microsoft Teams for document sharing.
