Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor – ERW Plant

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor will lead planning, supervision and execution of mechanical maintenance activities for the ERW plant, ensuring high equipment availability, reliability and efficient CAPEX project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance plans for ERW mills and related equipment.
• Lead root‑cause analysis of recurring breakdowns and drive permanent corrective actions.
• Plan, assign and coordinate daily maintenance work, shutdown jobs and breakdown interventions.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory, set stock levels and raise purchase requisitions to avoid shortages.
• Prepare and analyse mechanical maintenance reports covering downtime, equipment availability, costs and improvement actions.
• Utilise SAP PM (or equivalent CMMS) for work orders, history tracking and performance monitoring.
• Lead technical troubleshooting of mechanical systems such as mill stands, forming sections, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, gearboxes and bearings.
• Define scopes, specifications and cost estimates for mechanical CAPEX projects and oversee installation, commissioning and handover.
• Ensure compliance with safety, permit‑to‑work and statutory requirements during all activities.
• Train and develop mechanical technicians to improve troubleshooting and autonomous maintenance practices.

Required profile

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or equivalent.
• 7‑10 years of mechanical maintenance experience in heavy industry, with at least 3‑5 years supervising ERW tube‑mill maintenance.
• Proven experience in maintenance planning, spare‑parts management and CAPEX project coordination.
• Strong leadership, safety awareness and ability to work cross‑functionally with production, quality, electrical maintenance, procurement and stores teams.
