Mechanical Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will ensure the reliability and efficiency of production machinery in a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) food manufacturing plant. You will work closely with production, quality assurance and engineering teams to minimise downtime and uphold safety and hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on all mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose faults, carry out timely repairs and keep detailed service records.
• Support installation, testing and commissioning of new machinery and production lines.
• Monitor machine performance, recommend improvements and participate in root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, quality and occupational health & safety regulations.
• Assist with spare‑parts management and inventory control for maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of maintenance experience in an FMCG food manufacturing environment, preferably dairy or ice‑cream production.
• Proven ability to work under pressure in shift‑based operations.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and teamwork skills.
