Mechanical Team Leader

About the role

The Mechanical Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical maintenance, repair and optimisation of bottling and packaging lines at our state‑of‑the‑art facility. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures high equipment availability, reliability and compliance with safety, quality and GMP standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Diagnose mechanical faults on conveyors, filling machines, capping, labeling and utility systems.
• Coordinate plant shutdowns and ensure timely resolution of breakdowns.
• Lead, mentor and allocate tasks to a team of mechanical technicians.
• Monitor performance, manage spare‑parts usage and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Collaborate with production, quality and safety teams to drive continuous improvement and support root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and reliability within a high‑speed FMCG or beverage manufacturing environment, preferably on bottling or packaging lines.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including team supervision, coaching and workload planning.
• Good understanding of ISO standards, GMP, health and safety regulations and safe work practices in a plant setting.
• Willingness to work in shifts.

• Interpretation of technical drawings, manuals and equipment specifications.
• Preparation of maintenance documentation and reports.
