Medical Director (Gynaecologist)

About the role

The Medical Director provides strategic clinical leadership and oversees all medical services within the hospital. The role ensures that medical practice standards, patient safety protocols and clinical governance frameworks are upheld, acting as the bridge between clinical staff and hospital administration so that clinical excellence aligns with operational and financial sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for all clinical services
• Oversee medical staff credentialing, privileging and professional standards
• Develop and enforce clinical policies, protocols and treatment guidelines
• Lead clinical governance and quality assurance programs
• Monitor patient safety indicators and clinical outcomes
• Foster relationships with specialists and consulting physicians
• Guide clinical service expansion and specialized care programs
• Ensure compliance with national healthcare regulatory bodies

Required profile

• Master of Medicine in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB)
• Registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC)
• Minimum 10 years of clinical experience, including 5 years in leadership roles
