Medical Officer – Lead General Practitioner

About the role

Runda Oaks Medical is launching a private primary‑care clinic in Westlands, Nairobi and seeks an experienced Medical Officer to lead clinical services. You will act as the principal General Practitioner, delivering patient care while shaping the clinic’s clinical governance, protocols and standards from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality outpatient primary‑care as the resident General Practitioner.
• Lead clinical governance, ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
• Develop and implement clinical protocols, workflows and quality‑assurance processes.
• Mentor and support nurses, pharmacists, paediatricians and other allied health staff.
• Participate in strategic planning and decision‑making for medical service delivery.
• Oversee clinical audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor (MBChB or equivalent) registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council, holding a valid practising licence.
• Minimum 4 years post‑qualification clinical experience.
• At least 2 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Medical Director, Clinic Lead) – preferred.
• Strong general practice/primary‑care clinical skills.
• Proven leadership, team‑management and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience in clinic set‑up or service development is an advantage.
