Medical Specialist – Plastic Surgery

About the role

The Hospital is seeking a qualified Medical Specialist in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery to join its Department of Plastic Surgery. Reporting to the Head of Department, the specialist will deliver comprehensive diagnostic, curative, rehabilitative and preventive services to patients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform plastic and reconstructive surgical procedures, including microsurgical techniques.
• Provide specialist diagnostic and therapeutic care for a wide range of conditions.
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents and allied health staff.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with hospital protocols.
• Participate in departmental meetings, audits and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Masters of Medicine in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (or equivalent) recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
• MBChB degree or equivalent.
• Specialist recognition certificate in Plastic Surgery.
• Valid registration and practicing licence with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
• Professional indemnity cover.

Required skills

• Microsurgery (certification or fellowship preferred).
• Plastic and Reconstructive Surgical Techniques.
