MHPSS Design & Development Consultant (12‑month, remote)

About the role

The consultant will lead the design and development of the UNICEF‑WHO Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) accountability prototype, supporting its launch and ongoing optimisation. The assignment runs from 15 Nov 2026 to 14 Nov 2027 and may be extended based on programme needs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop the CAMH accountability platform prototype, ensuring responsive, multilingual and accessible delivery.
• Gather functional and technical requirements, create information architecture and UX designs following atomic‑design principles.
• Develop Drupal themes using Bootstrap base themes, implement WCAG AA accessibility, and support multilingual (including RTL) theming.
• Maintain and enhance the platform through continuous integration, automated testing (Behat), and agile development practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, User Design, graphic/product design or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in UX/UI design, visual design, and systematic problem‑solving with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to quickly absorb new technical information and work in a collaborative, international environment.

Required skills

• Drupal 8/9 theme development, contributed module creation, and Drupal‑as‑a‑service platforms (Acquia, Pantheon).
• Bootstrap‑based responsive design, atomic‑design/component‑based theming.
• Web accessibility standards (WCAG AA) and multilingual (RTL) theming.
• Agile methodology tools: Jira, VSTS, GitHub, git repositories.
• Automated testing with Behat, CI/CD pipelines (Travis CI, Jenkins).
