Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Intern

About the role

The Africa Center for Health Systems and Gender Justice is seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Intern to support evidence generation and impact measurement across its health programmes. This is an entry‑level position ideal for candidates with a background in public health, social sciences or related fields.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks for ongoing projects.
• Track programme outputs, outcomes and impact indicators using data collection tools.
• Support baseline, follow‑up and learning assessments.
• Maintain programme databases and performance dashboards.
• Analyse trends and participant outcomes to inform adaptive management.
• Contribute to learning briefs, case studies, impact reports and donor reporting.
• Document lessons learned and support the measurement of FemDigiNomics tools uptake.

Required profile

• Background in monitoring and evaluation, statistics, economics, public health, development studies, social sciences or related fields.
• Strong analytical and organisational abilities.
• Interest in evidence generation, learning and impact measurement.
