Motor Vehicle Mechanic Trainer (TVET)

About the role

Pan African Christian University in Nairobi is looking for a Motor Vehicle Mechanic Trainer to deliver competence-based training in diploma (KNQF level 6) and certificate (KNQF level 5) programmes. The trainer instructs students according to the curriculum and occupational standards, plans and runs practical sessions, and supervises trainees during their industrial attachments.

Key responsibilities

• Instruct trainees in the specific courses and units in line with the curriculum and occupational standards.
• Plan, conduct and assess practicals in the assigned course units.
• Prepare internal assessments, mark and grade them, and carry out validation and moderation.
• Supervise and assess trainees in the course area and during industrial attachment.
• Maintain records required by TVETA and TVET CDACC, such as learning records, session plans, training notes and records of work.
• Carry out any other duty assigned by the Coordinator or Director.

Required profile

• Earned diploma (KNQF level 6) in Automotive Engineering, Technician or equivalent.
• Two years' experience in a similar position.
• Licensed by TVETA and registered with the Engineer Board of Kenya (EBK) or the Kenya Engineering Technology Registration Board (KETRB).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Passionate about learning and supportive of learners.
• In-depth knowledge of the tertiary training structure and CBET, and exposure to TVET CDACC.
