Multimedia Designer

About the role

Ogilvy Africa is looking for a Multimedia Designer in Nairobi. The role goes beyond making visually striking designs: it centres on conceptual thinking, creative problem solving and versatility across outputs and digital channels. The designer turns client briefs into creative visual solutions, works with clients, Creative Directors, Account Managers and multidisciplinary teams, and produces work that fits the brand and performs across digital platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Create social media graphics, short-form videos and GIFs that capture attention and follow brand guidelines.
• Develop creative ideas and content, keeping up with digital marketing and social media trends and using social listening for real-time content.
• Understand client objectives, work from creative briefs and present concepts to clients, keeping design decisions aligned with brand guidelines.
• Collaborate with Senior Designers, Art Directors, Account Teams, Content Managers, Community Managers, Producers and external specialists such as artists and photographers.
• Manage design projects from brief to delivery within agreed timelines, handling multiple priorities and working independently with minimal supervision.

Required profile

• 4+ years of content creation experience for digital channels.
• Experience creating content for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X and YouTube.
• Digital-native understanding of social media platforms and awareness of local internet trends, memes and online culture.
• Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment, with strong client management, attention to detail and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Graphic design, content creation, typography and visual communication.
• Creating and editing digital graphics and photographs.
• Producing short-form videos and GIFs.
• Familiarity with leading design and animation tools.
