MWR Lifeguard

About the role

The MWR Lifeguard ensures the safety of patrons in aquatic facilities, supervising swimming activities, monitoring water conditions, and responding to emergencies. This position works closely with security, medical staff, and the Aquatics Coordinator to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise swimmers and patrons, enforce safety rules, and monitor natural water activities.
• Perform water rescues, administer CPR and first aid, and coordinate medical assistance when needed.
• Observe and document water, chemical, weather, and environmental conditions to identify hazards.
• Maintain and inspect safety equipment, lifeguard stands, boards, ropes, and dressing rooms for compliance.
• Collect identification, manage usage fees, and provide equipment orientations.
• Prepare incident reports, notify management of emergencies, and liaise with security and medical departments.
• Conduct routine cleaning, basic janitorial tasks, and facility maintenance as assigned.
• Administer aquatic assessment testing and certification in accordance with DoD, DON, and CNIC policies.
