About the role
The MWR Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons in aquatic facilities. This position involves supervising swimmers, responding to emergencies, and maintaining a clean and secure environment.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise swimmers and monitor all water activities, enforcing safety rules and reporting hazards.
- Perform water rescues, administer CPR and first aid, and call for medical assistance when needed.
- Observe pool conditions, water chemistry, weather, and remove hazardous materials such as debris or glass.
- Document water and weather conditions and prepare incident reports during emergencies.
- Administer aquatic assessment testing and provide equipment orientations.
- Check identification cards, collect usage fees, and act as liaison with security, medical, and aquatics coordination teams.
- Conduct routine cleaning, basic janitorial services, and facility maintenance tasks.
- Inspect safety gear, stands, boards, ropes, and dressing rooms to ensure compliance with health standards.
