National Consultant – EVAWG Assistant (Retainer)

About the role

UN Women Kenya is seeking a National Consultant to support the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG) team on a retainer basis. The consultant will work closely with the Team Leader and Programme Associates to provide technical, administrative and logistical assistance for the design, implementation and monitoring of EVAWG programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and capacity‑building support to project and programme partners.
• Assist the country office in developing and strengthening EVAWG projects and programmes.
• Contribute to the creation and implementation of technical tools and initiatives aligned with the EVAW Biennial Work Plan.
• Support relationships with national partners to expand programme implementation.
• Identify partners' capacity‑building needs and coordinate mentoring, training and technical assistance.
• Monitor programme implementation and finances using results‑based management tools, in collaboration with M&E colleagues.
• Conduct field missions, spot checks and review monitoring reports to ensure recommendations are applied.
• Draft high‑quality internal and external reports that are results‑based.
• Support the development of partnership and resource‑mobilisation strategies to enhance donor engagement.

Required profile

• Experience providing technical assistance to partners in gender‑based violence programmes.
• Familiarity with results‑based management and monitoring tools.
• Ability to conduct field missions, spot checks and produce detailed reports.
• Strong written communication skills for drafting internal and external reports.
