NGNGIS Housekeeper – Navy Gateway Inns & Suites

About the role

The NGIS Housekeeper will ensure the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites on Diego Garcia remain clean, safe, and welcoming for guests and staff. This position is part of Amentum’s support for a critical U.S. Navy program and requires adherence to strict Navy custodial standards.

Key responsibilities

• Clean guest rooms, common areas, and all NGIS facilities following the latest Housekeeper and Custodial Certification Manual.
• Perform dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and surface disinfection.
• Restock linens, toiletries, and other room amenities to maintain a consistent guest experience.
• Identify areas needing deep cleaning or special attention and report them promptly.
• Maintain certification from a NEXCOM NGIS Certified Housekeeper Trainer and stay current with training requirements.
• Follow Navy safety and hygiene protocols, report maintenance or safety issues, and manage cleaning equipment and supplies responsibly.

Required profile

• Certification as an NGIS Housekeeper obtained through a NEXCOM NGIS Certified Housekeeper Trainer.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Basic communication skills in English for reporting and guest interaction.
• Valid passport for at least one year and ability to obtain required visas per U.S. Department of State guidelines.
