Officer - Network Administration

About the role

DIB Bank Kenya, a subsidiary of Dubai Islamic Bank, is recruiting an Officer for Network Administration. The role maintains and monitors the core network, security and voice infrastructure so that the bank's data centres and enterprise network receive effective and efficient IT services.

Key responsibilities

• Research, design and present feasible network solutions to IT management, and analyse and document business requirements.
• Assist in designing the technical solution architecture and review technical design specifications, including estimated costs.
• Install, configure, manage and monitor the enterprise network for data, voice and security, covering planning, deployment, operation, upgrades and troubleshooting.
• Liaise with vendors for active and passive SCs network infrastructure at the data centre, major branches and back office, and implement network and security projects with the IT Projects team.
• Design and manage enterprise information flows and data protection, including key management across databases, file systems and applications.
• Work with Security Compliance, Infrastructure Services and Application Services, and maintain records of internal and external audit programmes.
• Prepare documentation of data centres, disaster recovery, products, services and designs for the Infrastructure Department.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar domain.
• Preferred: knowledge of Islamic banking principles and Shariah law, and familiarity with ITIL and IT governance.

Required skills

• CCNP R&S / Security / Voice; CCIE certification preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, CUCM and Palo Alto firewalls; F5 experience preferred.
• Routing protocols, Layer 2 technologies and network security, plus network monitoring systems.
• Project and process management skills.
