Offline-First Engineer (Desktop & Mobile) – Remote

About the role

Prime Frontier Technologies is looking for an Offline-First Engineer/Developer to design and implement an offline‑capable architecture for its field‑operations platforms. The role focuses on building a shared sync core that works across a desktop Electron app and future mobile apps, ensuring reliable data access in environments with poor or no connectivity.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the local data schema and on‑device storage (SQLite) for Electron and Capacitor‑based mobile clients.
• Build a robust write‑queue with retry logic and idempotency to handle network interruptions without duplicate records.
• Design and maintain the sync protocol against the existing REST API, including delta feeds, soft‑delete tombstones, and conflict resolution.
• Create a shared core package that includes the sync engine, validation, and API client, consumed by both desktop and mobile applications.
• Integrate conflict‑resolution UI flows, especially for modules requiring human approval.
• Manage code‑signing, auto‑update pipelines for the desktop app, and set up distribution processes for mobile stores.

Required profile

• Proven experience shipping an offline‑first application with a real local database and synchronization queue.
• Comfortable working with SQLite, designing idempotent APIs, and handling data conflict scenarios.
• Strong TypeScript and React expertise to integrate with the existing front‑end stack.
• Willingness to test on real hardware under poor‑connectivity conditions.
