Oracle Database Administrator – Nairobi

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our Nairobi office. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical Oracle database environments supporting our business applications.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Oracle 11g, 12c and 19c databases on Linux/Unix platforms.
- Perform performance tuning, indexing, and SQL optimization.
- Develop and execute backup, recovery and RMAN strategies, including data replication.
- Implement and support high‑availability solutions such as RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.
- Handle database upgrades, migrations, and patching.
- Monitor storage, manage disk space, and perform routine maintenance.
- Collaborate with developers, IT teams and stakeholders to align databases with business needs.
- Document architecture, configurations and procedures.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with strong communication skills.
- 7‑10 years of Oracle database administration experience.
- OCP certification for 11g/12c/19c preferred.
- Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager, PDB, and optional MS SQL.
