About the role
The Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) seeks part‑time lecturers to teach and mentor students in geomatics and land survey programmes. You will develop learning materials, lead practical sessions, assess student work and support research and curriculum development.
Key responsibilities
- Teach and mentor students in geospatial and land survey subjects.
- Prepare lecture notes, lab manuals and practical training resources.
- Assess assignments, examinations and supervise student projects.
- Contribute to curriculum design, academic programmes and research activities.
Required profile
- Relevant Master’s degree or higher in Geomatics, GIS, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Land Administration or related field.
- Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in land surveying, geomatics, GIS, construction, valuation or a related discipline.
- Professional registration or membership with bodies such as the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) or Law Society of Kenya (LSK) is highly desirable.
Required skills
- Cadastral, engineering, control and sectional property surveying.
- GIS and spatial database management, including Enterprise GIS platforms.
- Esri technical certifications, QGIS and database administration.
- Autodesk Civil 3D, ArchiCAD, BIM and Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit.
- Other recognized certifications in architecture, engineering, surveying or geospatial technologies.
