Job description

About the role

ICS SP Africa is looking for a Partnerships Coordinator in Nairobi to lead its implementing-partner relationships for Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) and online child safety programming. The role oversees project delivery, partner performance and accountability, and provides the technical guidance needed so that interventions follow global best practice and gain government uptake and scale.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the start-up, implementation and administration of CSEC and online safety partner projects, on time, on scope, on budget and in line with donor regulations.
  • Set performance objectives and indicators with partners, and formally review partner performance against contractual obligations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for partner relationships, resolve bottlenecks and strengthen partner capacity.
  • Provide technical support to the design and implementation of CSEC and online child safety interventions, and build the capacity of ICS SP and partner staff.
  • Support partners in producing progress, process and financial reports, and consolidate them for internal and external accountability.
  • Develop and implement an M&E and learning framework, working with the MEAL Coordinator and research partners, and share evaluation and research findings.
  • Build relationships with government departments, technical partners and coordination structures, and lead the advocacy agenda to support government uptake and scale-up.
  • Represent ICS SP at government, donor and partner forums, in coordination with the Programmes Manager and Director.

Required profile

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in child protection programming and partnership management, including at least 8 years focused on preventing and responding to violence and exploitation against children and young people.
  • Proven track record coordinating complex, multi-partner development programmes, including partner performance management and accountability frameworks.
  • Demonstrated advocacy and influencing skills with government, private sector and multi-sector coalitions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Gender, Public Health, Child Protection or a related field; a relevant Master's degree is an added advantage.

Required skills

  • Strong technical knowledge of global evidence and best practice on CSEC and online child safety.
  • Sound understanding of project planning, budgeting and donor reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting partners to design, monitor, evaluate and disseminate project outcomes and research.
  • Familiarity with technology-for-development (Tech4Dev) approaches is an advantage.
