Part‑time PhD Peer Reviewer – Environmental Engineering

About the role

We are seeking experienced researchers to join our editorial team as part‑time peer reviewers for manuscripts in environmental engineering. This long‑term, remote position allows you to contribute to scholarly publishing while maintaining your own research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty and scientific contribution of submitted manuscripts.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility.
• Check literature coverage and citation of relevant recent work.
• Analyse results, verify that conclusions are supported by data, and identify any ethical concerns.
• Provide clear, constructive feedback to authors and recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent in environmental engineering or a closely related field.
• At least five peer‑review‑ready publications in SCI/SSCI journals within the past three years.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and written communication abilities.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Commitment to confidentiality, objectivity, and ethical reviewing standards.
• Previous experience as a journal peer reviewer is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review platforms.
