Part‑Time Remote Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

About the role

Backpack Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join its Maryland‑based telehealth team. This part‑time, fully remote position focuses on delivering evidence‑based, family‑centered mental health care to children, teens and young adults.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop diagnostic formulations via telehealth.
• Create individualized treatment plans in partnership with patients and families.
• Prescribe, manage, and monitor psychotropic medications, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
• Provide brief supportive interventions, psychoeducation, and medication counseling.
• Collaborate regularly with therapists, psychiatrists and care coordinators through case consultations.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record system.

Required profile

• Active, unrestricted Maryland PMHNP license (multi‑state or compact licensure preferred).
• PMHNP‑BC board certification.
• Active DEA license.
• Availability for afternoon, evening and weekend appointments.

Required skills
