Pastry Chef & Lecturer/Instructor

About the role

The role combines hands‑on bakery management with academic teaching at Boma International Hospitality College. You will lead the pastry section, create high‑quality desserts, and deliver diploma‑level pastry arts courses to aspiring hospitality professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the college bakery, preparing and decorating pastries and desserts.
• Develop and test new recipes for the college menu.
• Design, coordinate and teach diploma‑level pastry arts courses.
• Prepare schemes of work, learning materials and maintain accurate student records.
• Set, administer and mark examinations and other assessments.
• Provide pastoral care, guidance and mentorship to students.
• Participate in departmental seminars and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Required profile

• Proven experience in pastry preparation and bakery operations.
• Experience teaching or mentoring students in a culinary or hospitality setting.
• Ability to develop curriculum, learning materials and assess student performance.
• Commitment to maintaining ISO‑based quality standards.
