Accounts Payable Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to join the Finance Department of Palacina The Residence & The Suites, a boutique luxury hotel in Nairobi. The role is full‑time, on‑site and reports to the Finance Manager, focusing on accurate processing of supplier invoices and maintaining strong financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices accurately and promptly.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare payment schedules and perform payment reconciliations.
• Ensure invoices are authorized and supported by required documentation.
• Maintain accurate creditor records and filing systems.
• Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to the General Ledger.
• Assist with month‑end closing procedures and financial reporting.
• Liaise professionally with suppliers and internal departments.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal financial controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate within a finance team.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with OPERA PMS.
• Experience with Materials Control (MC).
• Hands‑on experience with SUN Systems.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
