Pastry Trainee Program in Kitchen

About the role

The Kitchen – Pastry Trainee Program offers a hands‑on learning experience within the culinary department of a five‑star hotel. Reporting to the Training Manager, the trainee will rotate through pastry and kitchen operations to develop practical skills and understand hotel food‑service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a hygienic kitchen and personal hygiene at all times.
• Prepare and cook food according to the restaurant’s menu.
• Clean and re‑set the working area after each service.
• Adhere to occupational health, safety, fire and emergency procedures.
• Assemble and prepare ingredients for menu items.
• Assist with checking, receiving and storing of goods and maintain storage areas.
• Communicate effectively within the Food & Beverage department.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Culinary Arts from a recognized institution (completed coursework acceptable).
• No prior work experience required; less than one year since completion.
• Kenyan citizen.
• Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment.
• Excellent grooming, professional etiquette and positive learning attitude.
