Patient Account Representative Level II (Corporate)

About the role

The Patient Account Representative (PAR) Level II works within the Business Office to manage patient accounts in accordance with departmental policies. Reporting to the Manager and Supervisor, the role ensures timely and accurate processing of revenue cycle activities while supporting junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Process and reconcile patient accounts following established procedures.
• Assist the Collection Supervisor in identifying and resolving account issues.
• Interpret and apply State, Federal, HIPAA, HCFA, TennCare, and third‑party payer guidelines.
• Provide training and guidance to PAR Level I staff on complex cases.
• Maintain compliance with departmental policies, safety, and infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• Entry‑level experience (up to 24 months) in a healthcare revenue or billing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex account issues with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and payer requirements.
• No current disciplinary actions as a PAR Level I.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HIPAA, HCFA, TennCare, and other third‑party payer regulations.
• Ability to interpret state and federal healthcare billing guidelines.
