Dental Cardiovascular Technician – Nairobi

About the role

The client, a leading dental healthcare provider in Kenya, seeks a Dental Cardiovascular Technician to support the Dental/Oral Surgery Unit. The role involves conducting cardiac assessments and monitoring high‑risk patients before, during, and after complex dental procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform ECG/EKG testing, vital‑sign monitoring and cardiac assessments for patients undergoing dental and oral surgery.
• Review medical histories, evaluate cardiac risk for local anaesthesia or sedation, and monitor patients throughout procedures.
• Maintain emergency cardiac equipment and code carts, and respond promptly to cardiac or medical complications.
• Collaborate with oral surgeons, dentists, anaesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety.
• Prepare patients for procedures, obtain relevant histories, and assist during examinations and surgeries as required.
• Document ECG results, monitoring reports and maintain accurate clinical records.

Required profile

• Diploma or Degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Cardiac Physiology or related field.
• Valid registration/licensing with the appropriate medical regulatory body and ACLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a hospital, clinical or outpatient surgery setting.
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology and diagnostic procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
