People Operations (HR) Officer

About the role

4G Capital is looking for a proactive, detail‑oriented HR Officer to join its People & Culture team in Nairobi. You will be the backbone of daily HR operations, supporting branches and field teams while driving HRIS migration and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate employee‑relations cases, disciplinary hearings and performance improvement plans, meeting a strict 10‑day SLA.
• Lead migration of the organisational directory into the HRIS, automate document workflows and implement post‑probation tracking.
• Provide first‑line HR support for field teams, resolving ticketing inquiries via Hiver.
• Maintain audit‑ready employee records and ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws.
• Oversee attendance and leave tracking and generate HR analytics for data‑driven decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, with active IHRM membership.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on HR experience in a fast‑paced environment, strong knowledge of Kenyan labour law and employee‑relations processes.
• Empathetic, high integrity, confidential and able to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Practical proficiency with modern HRIS platforms.
• Experience using workflow‑automation tools (e.g., Hiver ticketing system).
