Petrol Station Card Handler - IT Oriented

About the role

A leading company in the petroleum, oil and gas sector, represented by Stratostaff East Africa, is looking for Petrol Station Card Handlers in Nairobi. The role manages and oversees fuel card transactions at the stations, keeping them accurate, secure and efficient so that station operations run smoothly and customers receive good service. The position is full-time on a 6-month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for fuel card and payment systems at station level
• Monitor system transactions and support reconciliation and reporting
• Troubleshoot card system, POS and connectivity issues
• Support system testing, updates and data validation
• Train station staff on card systems, digital tools and data accuracy
• Maintain system documentation and escalate technical issues
• Support data analysis to improve operational efficiency and reporting accuracy

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Technology or a related field
• At least 6 months of relevant experience in IT support, digital payments, POS systems or data analysis
• Clear verbal and written communication, able to explain card processes and policies to non-technical users
• Ability to investigate transaction or system issues and follow card system procedures, KYC requirements and internal controls

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel and basic data analysis tools
• Knowledge of CRM systems and electronic payment platforms
• Analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills
