Full-Stack Software Engineer

About the role

Accelera Digital Group is looking for a passionate, fast-learning Full-Stack Software Engineer to join its engineering team in Nairobi. The engineer designs, builds and deploys resilient, scalable web applications for a diverse client base, owning technical execution end to end and turning ambiguous client needs into production-ready software. The role also expects the use of AI coding tools to speed up work.

Key responsibilities

• Independently design and implement scalable applications, including front-end, back-end APIs and data storage.
• Apply knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular), microservices, cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, OCI, Azure) and optimised databases.
• Set standards for clean code, unit, integration and E2E testing, security and CI/CD.
• Translate complex business requirements into simple, intuitive software experiences.
• Architect with modularity and componentisation in mind, building reusable frameworks and patterns for new clients.
• Lead research and prototyping of complex features such as real-time data integration and interactive UIs.
• Use AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code) for boilerplate, debugging, tests and documentation, with human review.
• Work with product, UX/UI and business stakeholders and document technical designs and best practices.

Required profile

• Expert-level front-end framework (React/React Native) and back-end environment (Node.js/Express, Java Spring Boot, Python, etc.).
• Significant hands-on experience architecting and deploying on a major cloud platform, with CI/CD, monitoring and Docker.
• Hands-on expertise with relational and/or NoSQL databases, serverless functions, application gateways and networking.
• Proven track record of delivering applications from concept to production, with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Able to turn ambiguous business problems into defined technical solutions and explain architecture to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fast, self-directed learner.

Nice to have

• Data pipelines, ETL/ELT or streaming data experience.
• Building AI-powered features (e.g. with the Claude API).
• Experience across multiple cloud platforms and reusable internal frameworks.
