Pharmaceutical Technologist (Locum)

About the role

Halisi Family Hospital in Westlands, Nairobi, is hiring a locum pharmaceutical technologist to provide professional pharmaceutical services to all clients. The role covers dispensing, stock management, quality assurance and reporting within the pharmacy.

Key responsibilities

• Receive prescriptions from clinicians and dispense drugs to patients in a timely, safe and accurate manner.
• Manage turn-around time to ensure efficient pharmacy service flow and an excellent client experience.
• Follow up client concerns and give timely feedback.
• Enter data correctly into the system and registers.
• Implement quality assurance programs at the department.
• Keep the pharmacy well stocked while avoiding overstocking, and maintain hygiene, order and cleanliness.
• Lead, organize and plan pharmacy performance, and take part in departmental and interdepartmental meetings.
• Ensure smooth information flow between the department and management, and submit regular reports to supervisors.
• Assist in formulating, reviewing and implementing policies and procedures, and take part in clinical audits.

Required profile

• Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
• At least three years of relevant experience in a busy pharmacy, including inventory management.
• Registered with the Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board and holds a valid practicing license.
• Private hospital experience is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
• Excellent clinical acumen, customer service and communication skills, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
